Alan Atkin – Director of Naming

Educated at both St Martin’s School of Art in London and at Cambridge University, Alan worked in advertising and publishing before joining Origin in 2000.   In that time he has helped to shape some of the world’s most iconic brands.  His expertise lies in the specialized area of brand identity creation, with a key focus on name development and brand strategy

Alan graduated from Cambridge with a BA (Honours) degree in Architecture and Social-Political Sciences.

Alan has developed brand names and conducted creative workshops for a wide range of brands.  His broad experience and good knowledge of languages have helped to re-enforce and shape many well known global brands for a wide range of clients including: Novo Nordisk, BASF, DuPont, AstraZeneca, Bayer, Syngenta, Allergan, Amersham, Orion, Nestlé, Solvay, GlaxoSmithKline, Bayer, General Motors, Aventis, Braun, TDK, Johnson & Johnson, Siemens, Novartis, Yamanouchi, Jaguar, Shell, Husqvarna, Vodafone, Lafarge and Philips.  back
